Here is a comment from my friend Amanda Kemp:
"Breema for me is a return to my heart, to breath, and to sheer joy of being. Walter is a gifted carrier of this healing modality and will help you drop your burden."

What has been your experience of bodywork with Walter?

Walter appeared under a tree with his comforting mat at a recent farm festival. I was needing a connection with nature and earth, since I live in the city. He provided for me a refuge to rest and restore. I felt safe because of the tone he set before we began. I felt cared for because of his presence combined with his skill as a bodywork practicioner. I highly recommend the refuge of Walter and Breema.

I was priviledged to work with Walter many times at Pendle Hill where I attended a Breema workshop, had two Breema bodywork sessions, and came to weekly self-breema sessions. Walter is a wonderful teacher as well as a bodyworker. His nonjudgemental presence allowed me to stay in the present moment as well as in my body. Breema has allowed me to become more self-accepting of myself and relieved some of the tensions in my body through gentle stretches, leans and brushes. I would encourage anyone who might be interested to contact Walter and try a Breema session. It will change your life!
ReplyDeleteThe goal of the healer is to create the space that allows the "patient"'s natural, birth rited healing to take place. Walter's Breema bodywork opens this space, within you, within him, and within the space therein. He makes no demands of you, and offers openly and selflessly, although that's funny, because as you learn about Breema, it's all really about him!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gordon for the comment. Hope parenting of two is going wonder-fully!
ReplyDeleteWhat Gordon is referencing is the invitation at the center of Breema for me to do Breema for myself. The aim is to come fully to this present moment with the support of breath, body, and the life power at the center of all things.
It is not my intention to analyze or fix anything in the recipient. But if I am able to come fully to this present moment, I can create an atmosphere which supports the recipient and nurtures the essential life energy within.
Life giving to Life! What joy!
I was able to receive a full breema treatment from Walter on Friday and thankful that it helped restore my body/mind connection.
ReplyDeleteI felt very nurtured and relaxed.

A very sweet comment from my good friend Amy Ward Brimmer, (http://www.wayopenscenter.com/):

As Walter mentioned above, he brought Breema bodywork to Friends Center yesterday, where I work at the Friends Council on Education. I took advantage of his presence there to give myself a 35-minute treat -- fully present, non-judgemental touch, and good old fashioned nurturing under Walter's expert hands.
This was my first experience of Breema, which I had never heard of until Walter told me about it a few months ago. I have really high standards for bodywork, because I am a bodyworker myself -- I teach Alexander Technique and have also developed my own hands on healing modality called Somatic Release. (www.wayopenscenter.com) I can tolerate average or mediocre practitioners, and even put up with newbies when I help out on training courses, but I don't really like it much. A massage therapist, cranial-sacral practitioner, or Rolfer better be good at what they do or they will only ever see me once.
So it is with some slight amazement that I can report how unbelievably great Walter is at Breema bodywork. It was fantastic! As I told him, I have only known a few people whose touch is as warm, deep, and clear as his -- including my mentor (who has never been surpassed in my opinion and probably never will be). Walter is simultaneously gentle yet firm (a principle of Breema), deep without being invasive, confident but not arrogant, and just plain sweet. :-)
Granted, I have a lot of experience in knowing how to let go and allow someone to move my body parts around in various ways; I teach and know how to access inner body-mind wisdom. Still, I'm not going to do it if I sense that the bodyworker isn't very, very good at what they do. This was a wonderful little dance, and it left me feeling refreshed and reintegrated with myself.
If I were you I'd give Walter a call. It's a great way to "forget your troubles c'mon get happy." Plus, he has a sliding fee scale so you can probably afford his awesome work.
